ITAP Project: Criticizing the Foundation

As of now, and after discussing with my mentor, we both agree that management of the site itself won’t be the grand of an issue when the site is in full use. By this I mean, multiple people will be given access to the rights to author their own content to the site, and by having multiple authors, professors, other IT persons, etc., this process will go smoother. Although we probably still want to have an administrator approving all the author’s content, to make sure we don’t have over-saturation, and ensure that the layout of the site remains the same.

I have completed an initial set up of the site, meaning people who are given a tour of the site can see how it will be used. Our idea now is to meet with faculty at Union to discuss what sort of content they would like to see developed in this learning ecosystem. This way I am not blindly committing content to the site and instead adding what will be used in curriculum on campus.

Eventually, we want to branch out of Union and allow the site to be used within the New York 6. This way we can have plenty of content being added and so this will give users a reason to return to branch out in their digital learning environment to others. This branching will give the site more coverage and allow more students to use it. The site itself is not only for those who will be using it in a specific curriculum but be for those who want to also learn how to manage their own learning. I believe I need to brand the site more and provide a smoother tour than just a wall of text type of introduction I currently have.
